This mural was created for a community park in Pataskala, Ohio. Nearly 50 people, young and old, came together to work on this project. This mural was created to be bright and fun, while reflecting themes of unity and humanity. Every feature in this scene represents a significant aspect of the over 40 countries from where local refugees who are now living in Ohio come from.
This mural was painted under the guidance of C-JAM (Communities Joining for Art and Murals) which is an extension of The Columbus Crossing Borders Project. The painting sessions brought together many central Ohio students with new Americans, serving as a gracious way to learn about cultures while welcoming new residents.
