The Columbus Crossing Borders art exhibit can be viewed in person or online

The Columbus Crossing Borders art exhibit features the collective contribution of 34 artists responding to the plight of refugees with paintings that “cross borders” and connect. In other words, these artists were asked not to be territorial with their work, allowing instead for their paintings to overlap and integrate harmoniously. As the exhibit moves from left to right, each painting contains an element that reaches into the painting beside it. You may see a figure moving from one canvas onto the next. Perhaps two paintings are connected by an intersecting ocean or blades of grass. Or maybe the connection is being made with repetitious symbols or designs. Still, in whatever way these 'border crossings' are taking place, this inspirational exhibit is the result of a cooperative community of artists who have created a beautiful tribute to the resilience, strength, and courage of those who have survived the hardships of forced migration.
